AeroShark Tech. is nearly complete it's newest air superiority fighter project, the Su-35 Super Flanker-SN/X. This project consists of three radically redefined versions of the Sukhoi Su-35. The Su-35 Super Flanker-SK (single seat land based export version), the Su-35 Super Flanker-SX (single seat land based air superiority fighter), and the Su-35-SN (tandem seat multirole carrier fighter).
These aircraft feature fully interactive virtual cockpits and are outfitted with the newest touchscreen avionics from Code 1 Digital, such as advanced FADEC, EICAS, SATCOM/GPS, and an advanced FCU that allows the aircraft to be switched from "Conventional Flight Mode" to "Thrust Vector Maneuvering". They can also carry the AST Python V Advanced Air to Air Missile as well as the Thresher Multirole Weapons Pack (not available on the Su-35 Super Flanker-SK export model).
AST has also elected to re-adapt the canards on both the SN and SX models for optimal performance at low speed/high alpha dogfight situations. The Sukhoi Su-30 demonstrated that superior maneuverability and handling can be easily achieved with the combination of canards, 3D thrust vectoring nozzles, and an advanced fly by wire system. The AST Super Flankers SN and SX feature all of these systems and more.
These aircraft have been tested by AST test pilots in dynamic combat environments against the most advanced payware aircraft available such as the IRIS F-22A, Aerosoft F-16C, and VRS Super Bug, as well as the AST Su-30 Flanker-KUB with outstanding success. After taking on each 20 times in various number and situational scenarios. The Su-35-SK achieved an overall air to air kill ratio of 51:9 (all nine losses to the IRIS F-22A). The Su-35-SX achieved a kill ratio of 58:2 (1 loss to AST -30-KUB and 1 loss to IRIS F-22). The Su-35-SN achieved a kill ratio of 60:0 (no losses).
These aircraft are currently undergoing the last round of updates and weapons testing before they enter service with the IDN and STS in August of 2012. The IDN will acquire 20 SN models and 10 SX models. STS will acquire 5 SN models and 5 SX models. The Su-35 Super Flanker-SK will be available for export in October of 2012 to selected buyers.
